The Regals 16u Girls are excited to announce the association has been granted full membership in the National Girls Hockey League (NGHL) for the 2022-2023 season going forward. For the 2022-2023 season the 16u Girls will participate in a full league season in the NGHL with our other girls’ teams starting this season as part time participants while they get used to the rigors of this type of league. This established league offers exposure to teams from all over the US, from coast to coast in a showcase style weekend format at world class facilities, with a playoff event, currently scheduled for Denver, Colorado in February.

The NGHL is unique in that not only do they put a premium on the growth of high-level girls’ hockey and promotion of participation in college hockey programs, but also work at the grass roots level to give girls the opportunity to have experiences not offered by strictly high-level leagues.

The NGHL encourages member organizations to make a commitment as well to develop girls’ hockey from the grass roots level all the way to the higher levels of hockey, and to this end, they have come out with 8u and 10u futures divisions for younger teams to be a part of their league in a jamboree style format.

The 16u girls look forward to our first league showcase of the season in August in Cromwell, Ct, where they have declared their participation in the higher level “Red” division for the 2022-2023 season.
